Good for an optic
The cheek rest is easy to add/ remove without tools and is stable, perfect for an AK running optics.

Cheek Rest for ACE Skeleton Stock
I agree with some of the InterWeb forum discussions. This isn't the most robust product out there for this application. The Ukrainian ME Adjustable Cheek Rest looks to be one of the best, but it's 'out of stock' and about 7 or 8 times more expensive. For casual range use this is fine. Awesome!
Took a couple days before it was shipped... then again, it was the weekend and we are dealing with a small biz here so no worries. Price was the best I could find online. My FAL Para loves its new cheek riser! Great job guys!
