JT Engineering Competition Magwell designed for use with modified Surefire magazines.
Standard SGM-Surefire magazines can be used also with this magwell if you remove the front lip.
Allows you to insert magazines straight in like an AR15 for lightning fast reloads.
Made in the USA from solid Billet Aluminum.
NOTE: Design does NOT allow you to use Drums with this part.
Cheetah 12 Magwell Installation
1. Make sure your weapon is safe to handle then remove
dust cover, guide rod assembly and bolt carrier group.
2. Unscrew the handguard bolt and remove handguard
(this allows you access to install the front attachment screw).
3. Remove the trigger group. There are three pins holding the trigger
assembly in the receiver. Using a punch from
the left hand side, first punch out the CENTER pin which is securing the
trigger. Second, punch out the forward
pin (just behind the mag catch rivets) and last punch out the third pin which
is right behind the safety. Pull on the
pistol grip to remove the trigger housing assembly.
4. Fit the magwell into place. The front inside edge lines up with the
forward mag slot. While holding the
magwell firmly in place, drill 3 pilot holes in the receiver in the right
location for the screws. Drill larger
holes as needed for the 6/32 screw (1/8 drill bit). Then attach and secure the magwell using the
6/32 x 3/8 screws and the hex nut.
5. Reinstall the handguard and trigger
group. Trigger Group: Push up on the
bolt hold open lever (keeps it from getting caught on the safety) and push the
trigger assembly back into place, reinstall the pins starting with the rear pin
first, then the front pin, then the center.
Handguard: It might be necessary
to file a small amount of material off the handguard insert to clear the hex
hut inside the receiver.
6. MAGAZINE MODIFICATION. Use SGM Tactical Saiga 12 magazines. First remove the two ribs (looks like a
ladder) from the side and back of the magazine.
Next, start to remove the plastic “bump” on the front lip of the
magazine until the magazine can be inserted and locked in place by the mag
catch. (Caution if you remove too much
material from the front “bump”, the magazine will drop out while shooting)
Hardware Included: 6/32x3/8 Screws (4) and 6/32 Hex Nuts (4)
Note: All Saiga 12 extended magazine release levers will work with this magwell.
